The MAP Chapter of St Andrews and Stirling aims to make philosophy a more inclusive place to be.
The chapter offers support, resources and networks for under-represented and disadvantaged groups in philosophy, engages in discussions with the faculty to make philosophy at both universities more inclusive, and explores ways to make philosophical discussions and debates more accessible.
We represent minorities in both the postgraduate community as well as undergraduate philosophers in St Andrews and Stirling.
We aim to provide support to all who feel alienated and isolated in philosophy, and specifically speak out on behalf of women, trans and non-binary people, ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, disabled people, people with mental health problems, working class students and staff, and students and staff from non-academic backgrounds.
